The 9th GPPAD Investigator Meeting took place June 8 and 9, 2021. We would especially like to thank our speakers, presenters, session chairs and all guests whose participation made our meeting a great success.

The 9th GPPAD Investigator Meeting was the first virtual event this year. Our attendees were able to participate virtually in the science sessions, presentations and interactive workshops from the comfort and safety of their home or office.

In the two meetings days our GPPAD researches discussed recent GPPAD studies but also new approaches to prevent the development of type 1 diabetes and improve the lives of those living with the disease today. The successful start of the new GPPAD prevention study SINT1A (Supplementation with B. INfantis for Mitigation of Type 1 Diabetes Autoimmunity) was also celebrated. SINT1A follows the ongoing Primary Oral Insulin Trial (POInT) and investigates whether giving the probiotic B. infantis can prevent the development of type 1 diabetes in children with an increased risk of type 1 diabetes. Learn more about SINT1A: SINT1A study | GPPAD

One of the highlights was also the talk by Petter Brodin. You can watch the record of his science talk on our Science Talk page: Science talks | GPPAD

We are excited to announce that the 10th GPPAD Investigator Meeting will be in October 26 and 27 in Munich, Bavaria.
